What is the Conscious Mind?

The conscious mind is the part of your mind that is responsible for logic and reasoning. It deals with everyday living. If someone asked you your address it's your conscious mind that is going to be used to answer the question.When in the state of hypnosis, a person's conscious mind very much present and alert.

What is the Subconscious Mind?

Subconscious mind is the part of your mind that is responsible for all involuntary actions like breathing. However if you started to control your breath with intention then you know your conscious mind is in charge. Your emotions and habits are also controlled by the subconscious mind. It is also a place where belief and memories are stored. It does not register the difference between fact and fantasy

What does it feel like during the session?

You will feel as if you are in trance. You will feel comfortable, lighter, relaxed and more in control. At the end of the session you will have a sense of well-being.

Will I lose all control of my mind and body and do silly things?

No, you will not start pecking like a hen or cry out loud. At any point if your conscious mind does not agree with the suggestions given, your mind will just block those suggestions and you would come out of hypnosis. Hypnosis is a state of heightened awareness and you are in control. It is a state in which two minds and body should be aligned to shift its perspective in life.

Will I remember everything afterwards?

Yes, you should remember most of the suggestions and most part of the experience. It is observed that suggestions given during hypnosis reappear in your conscious mind leading to changes in behaviour or life patterns. Sometimes patients do experience partial amnesia before recollecting the entire experience.

Can I be hypnotized against my will?

No, you need to be aware of the process and willing to get into hypnosis.

How many sessions will it take to reach my goal?

The length of Hypnotherapy will be determined by the clients desire to change a behaviour. Some clients get relief in as little as a two sessions, while others feel it is a benefit for ongoing therapy for as long as they desire. It is recommended that a new client work with a Hypnotherapist for a minimum of 3 to 6 sessions that are one week apart. Weight loss generally take longer based on clients condition and goals.

Are Hypnotherapists licensed doctors?

No. Hypnotherapists are “certified counsellors” that specialize in general self-improvement with behaviour modification. There is no licensing in this profession, nor can a Hypnotherapist call themselves a Doctor or PhD without legitimate medical training from a college program and have completed state licensing exams.

What are the benefits of using hypnosis?

If you are ready to make a change in your life and have tried other methods for achieving your goals but all in vain, then Hypnotherapy may be right for you. While hypnosis does work quickly, it is not magic and results will not occur overnight in most cases
